A Halloween table setting with its own style

This year, I’ve set out to decorate my Halloween table setting in a completely different way. No skulls, cobwebs or dark tones; this time, I want the decor to reflect my personal taste and the warmth of autumn. This holiday is not only an excuse to decorate our homes in a creative way, but also to set up cozy and stylish tables. As it could not be otherwise, thinking about this celebration, I have counted on my friend Lupe Herrera once again to show off her magic and accompany a seasonal recipe with a delicate, cosy and above all autumnal table decoration.  

If there is something we both love about this season, it’s the opportunity to integrate everything that the season gives us into the decor: warm colours, natural textures and, of course, seasonal flavours! What is the key to achieving this? A combination of natural elements and creative touches that make every detail count. 

For the table decoration, Lupe was inspired by earth tones and that mix of rusticity and elegance that brings autumn. Just as this decoration has a special twist and moves away from the typical celebration of Halloween, the dessert she has prepared is not the traditional pumpkin cake. Instead, she has cooked a cheesecake with mango, a combination that delights at first sight and brings a beautiful touch to the table. I think there is nothing better to symbolise the autumn like this cake, accompanied by raspberries, pomegranates and some leaves.

What’s the best thing about this decoration? It doesn’t follow the usual clichés. Instead of limiting itself to a dark aesthetic, Lupe has created a table that truly defines her style. From the plates to the small decorative pumpkins, each element reflects her creative personality. You can do the same and develop your own style without getting stuck in the traditions. It’s just a matter of choosing what you like and adapting it to your way. 

Setting this table is easier than it looks. Here you are some ideas for autumn table decor so you can make them real in your next celebration or any event during this season:

  1. Play with the colours of this season: Opt for orange, brown and red tones in both decoration and food. These colours reflect the essence of the season. 
  2. Add natural elements: Use decorative pumpkins, garnets and preserved or artificial flowers to give a rustic but sophisticated and natural touch to your table. 
  3. Create a centerpiece with the cake: Place the pumpkin cake in the center, decorated with fresh fruits and flowers. It will become an eyecatcher element, both for its taste and presentation. 
  4. Choose tableware that evokes autumn, like our Evora crockery. In addition, its warm colours will highlight the food tones and make everything look in much more balanced way.

As you can see, this year Halloween will give a completely twist for me, moving away from the dark or scary decorations and opting for an elegant and cosy version. Warm colours, natural details and a pumpkin cake are a perfect way to celebrate it in a relaxed yet festive way.
