Some photo shoots are planned weeks in advance, whilst others simply spring from a sudden impulse. This was one of those stories that came about naturally, almost without me realising it. One morning, whilst wandering around the showroom in search of inspiration, the Alana side table caught my eye. In that instant, I knew I wanted to make it the star of a new story.
I mentioned it to the team and there was no turning back. We placed it next to the Milano sofa and ideas started flowing straight away. “Wait, we need a rug.” “What if we add some candle holders?” “Bring that vase over.” And just like that, almost without realising it, the space began to come to life.
I must say that this is one of the things I enjoy most about my work: seeing how a simple idea ends up becoming something special when everyone contributes their perspective and enthusiasm.
A side table and lots of decorative touches
Little by little, Alana became the centre of attention. She needed no grand embellishments. This natural rattan table stands out for the authenticity of its materials and the beauty of its forms. Its textures and the contrast of the terracotta-coloured ceramic top convey warmth and charm. All that was needed was to pair her with elements that would enhance her essence.
In the same spirit of calm and harmony, the small Lorea and Varek candle holders in copper tones add a subtle sparkle. Their presence brings warmth and a decorative touch that fits naturally with the whole, reinforcing that feeling of a home built on simple yet thoughtful details.
In the process of gradually adding pieces, there are items I simply cannot resist, especially when craftsmanship is involved. Clay vases are one such example. Manarola is a modern and contemporary decorative vase, and I love how it conveys that sense of a unique object, with soul, which fits naturally into any arrangement without needing to dominate the space.

Whilst we were taking the photos, it was easy to imagine it being part of all those little moments we experience in our daily lives. Like when we set down that still-hot cup of coffee whilst getting ready each morning, place our glasses next to our keys when we get home, or rest the book that keeps us company each night before we go to sleep. It is in these everyday, simple and almost unnoticed gestures that a square side table really comes into its own.
Perhaps that is why it is so easy to find a place for it in the home. In the living room, it works a treat as a side table for the sofa, perfect for setting down a bowl of nuts whilst you watch your favourite series. And in the bedroom, it can become the ideal bedside table, where you can place a lamp that, as well as adding a decorative touch, provides that lovely soft light at the end of the day. Alana has that ability to blend naturally into different spaces without losing its character.
The most beautiful ideas at Ofelia come about just like this, almost without planning. Perhaps that’s why I like this little photo shoot so much. Because it really captures how we work. With complete naturalness. Letting ourselves be guided by the spaces, the light and the pieces.
And if Alana in terracotta has won you over with its warmth, the best thing is that it’s just a taste of everything this collection has to offer. Its more elegant and sophisticated side is still to be discovered, but we won’t get ahead of ourselves: every piece deserves its own moment.
