When I arrived in Madrid and settled in Barquillo street, many people asked me if I missed the sea. At first, perhaps because of the excitement of a new adventure, the truth is that I didn't, but as the years have gone by, I do keep it very much in mind. That is why my house has a marked Mediterranean style, where my roots are reflected. This fact, along with the importance that light has for me, has marked its architecture. Thus, my house is opened to the outside with a garden full of vegetation, large windows, to be able to observe it from any angle, and a porch that works as a link with the interior part of the house. The limits between inside and outside are blurred, inviting me to feel nature, its light, its smell, its sounds... That is why the kitchen and dining room are glazed to open them up in summer and enjoy the outdoors in winter.
This home is built on a single floor, with pure lines and no big ornaments in the Ibizan style, because of my passion for authenticity. This natural simplicity is achieved thanks to the combination of locally sourced noble materials and minimalist decoration. The absence of artifice helps me to create calm spaces. It is not a question of leaving the rooms uncluttered, but of doing it with just the right pieces. Textiles enrich and provide comfort without overloading, thanks to natural, fresh, soft-touch fabrics, which I use to dress everything from the bedroom to the sofa.
