A place to sit down, a cup of coffee and a few minutes to myself. Creating a coffee corner at home is a simple way to put those little spaces to good use and make them part of your everyday life.

With these simple ideas, today I’ll show you how to design your own and give it a lovely, practical touch that’s full of personality.

Why set up a coffee corner at home?

One of the great advantages is that we can make better use of the space. A small bar can become the perfect setting to breathe new life into an area that had been somewhat neglected.

What’s more, this allows us to create a space where we can switch off. Making a coffee, sitting down quietly and savouring it at a leisurely pace can provide that much-needed moment of calm.

It’s also a simple way to add character to the kitchen. Combining materials, textures and small details such as distinctive stools or colourful crockery makes the space feel much more like our own.

Ofelia’s touches for a really ‘cute’ coffee corner

For this coffee corner, I’ve made use of a high table against the wall and given it a very ‘Ofelia’ feel with various items from the homeware and décor catalogue.

  • Brail high stools: they provide that touch of comfort and elegance I was looking for. Their metal frame is combined with a seat and backrest upholstered in brown bouclé, a texture that adds warmth and makes the bar feel even more welcoming.
  • Colmar mugs: made of steel and featuring a design of red stripes on a white background, they’re the perfect splash of colour to add a cheerful and special touch to the atmosphere.
  • Landy tray: rectangular and made of mango wood, it’s the perfect place to set out the mugs and coffee capsules. What’s more, its finish creates a lovely contrast with the red and enhances the warmth of the whole ensemble.
  • Draco basket: made from water hyacinth and featuring a handle, I’ve hung it on a hook next to the table so the napkins are always to hand. It’s a practical touch that also adds a natural texture to the space.
  • Indigo cup: a must-have for lovers of authentic espresso, this white ceramic mug is an essential that’s a must in this corner.
  • Deva napkins: a lovely touch of 100% cotton that adds comfort and softness.
