After this atypical spring, comes a rather unusual summer. That's why this year I've chosen to go for local tourism, where I can escape from the daily life and the city crowd. Losing myself in nature and history is one of the best options for enjoying this holiday. Guided by this desire I arrived at the countryside of Valencia, specifically at the border of the Parque Natural de las Hoces del Cabriel. I was welcomed by 4 hectares of vineyards, olive, and almond trees. I have arrived in  Vilasira.

This property contains a building dating from the end of the 19th century, formerly known as Casa del Pinar, which has now been restored. Various communal areas are distributed from here, such as the swimming pool overlooking the vineyard, the Patio de los Tilos, the Secret Garden and the underground Gallery of Trullos.

In this magnificent setting, Tierra de Bobal, close to Requena, the forest (just 200 metres away) surrounds the vineyard. Therefore, in this privileged place where you can connect with nature, where you can feel and live, you can also enjoy a complete experience with its own 19th century winery that houses a world-class wine tourism centre. In the winery you can discover and taste wines from all over the world, as well as the farm's wines, which this September will have their first harvest and grape varieties that include bobal, cabernet sauvignon and macabeo.

This journey about wine culture, together with the best local gastronomy, takes place in an unusual setting, the underground Trullos gallery, which has been transformed into private tasting rooms.

If you are still hungry, I recommend you to visit their restaurant. Here you will enjoy the special local food, with fresh local ingredients from their own orchard, including their olive oil. Real flavours, where the tomato tastes like tomato and the cheeses are made with milk recently milked, presented in the freshest way. A gastronomic experience where you can immerse yourself in the local cuisine and the typical products of the Utiel-Requena region.

And if there is one way to live the full experience, it is by staying overnight. The rooms range from double, superior and suite rooms, which include an antique bathtub and fireplace, to a villa, if you're staying with family or a group of friends. In all of them, the original architecture of the building stands out, with exposed wooden beams on the ceilings, brick, earthenware floors and white walls, linen, cotton, wood, wicker,.... dress up cosy atmospheres without overloading the space. And all of them with views of the farm and the vineyard.

A place where you can disconnect and reconnect with yourself, a space where you can sleep and enjoy yourself, where you can also benefit from its Wellness Service to spoil yourself with its massages and treatments.

Vilasira introduces on its website,  vilasira.com, with this quote from Gaudí: "Nobody invents anything because everything is written in nature. Originality consists in going back to the origin". This quote is a true statement of values, which says everything about this hotel and its philosophy.

This property, developed by the couple entrepreneurs Ricardo and Ana, is not only a commitment to enterprising, but also has a beautiful personal story to tell. Both from Requena and with 10 years of business experience, they decided to leave their projects and invest jointly in their roots and their land, the place where they also began their relationship.

A project full of love that is represented in its very name, as Vilasira is the union of Ana's surname, as a tribute to her grandfather and his family history, and their daughter's name. A beautiful way of creating a harmony between generations and joining past and future, a real return to the origins. I am sure you can now understand why I like it so much.
