As I have told you from the very beginning, my travels are for me a great inspiration and a place to search for treasures to show you. Speaking of treasures, no place has ever made me feel as much a part of a magical story as the Taj Lake Palace.

I love India, is one of world's places I feel more connected with, its colours, smells, its smiles, and its beauty inspire me every day. In this post, I want to talk about Udaipur and especially about this charming place located in the middle of Lake Pichola, the Taj Lake Palace.

The first part of the hotel is located on the shore of the lake, where a beautiful pier protects me from the sun and immediately charms me with its structure of iron arches and natural fibre furnishings.

I board on the boat and my experience becomes even more exciting. The canvas and the ornamental curtains transport me to a fairy tale and make me feel like a princess. I am kindly driven to the centre of the lake, the location of this spectacular structure, my destination.

This palace was once the summer residence of the sovereigns of Udaipur, the Maharanas. The building extends over the entire surface of the island in the centre of the lake, almost as if it were a floating palace.

Built in 1746, today's hotel is built almost entirely of white marble, except for two statues of elephants in black marble that adorn the entrance. Its enchanting rooms, decorated in pure Indian style, offer a 100% authentic local experience.

The hotel also includes a charming guests’ areas, a large inner courtyard, surrounded by arches and a stunning water lily pond.

Several kiosks, a swimming pool, fountains all along the route and terraces ending in domes.

The moment I stepped back onto the bank of Pichola Lake was like waking up from a dream.

Thank you so much, India! You always win my heart.
