Some days seem to whisper to us to slow down, to live at an unhurried pace. Moments that spark the desire to create something beautiful just for two: a lunch with that friend who always makes us laugh, or a quiet dinner with a partner, with plenty of time and all our attention on each other.
Today, this little outdoor bar has become our refuge. A cozy corner where sunlight filters through the lattice and everything flows with a different rhythm... slower and more special.
Dining outdoors has a unique charm. I'm not talking about big events or formal celebrations. I mean those simple moments that just happen and somehow become the most memorable. The warm air, the natural light, the flavours that feel different when shared slowly... For those occasions, I like to create a cozy space, without overcomplicating things. A space with texture, warmth, and above all, soul.
I set out the stools, place the placemats, and fold the napkins. I add the plates, the cutlery, and a pair of glasses for toast to us, to being here, to being well. And in the center, there is a vase of fresh flowers. Today I chose simple but cheerful ones, just like this moment we’re sharing without effort.
Let me tell you how I created this little corner at home. Because yes, you can do a lot with very little. All you need are the right pieces and the desire to enjoy. To bring this space to life, I chose the Gabriel stools, made of natural elm wood, which adds a cozy touch. They're comfortable, understated, but full of personality. Perfect for those get-togethers we want to linger over a little longer.
A summer salad, a refreshing gazpacho… Simple dishes that taste even better when served with care and in beautiful tableware. That’s why I love using the Karma plates and bowls. Their earthy brown hue enhances the colours of the food, and their clean, elegant design fits perfectly with the laid-back and inviting vibe I look for in outdoor meals.
There’s nothing like a good cloth napkin to warm up the table, and here’s a little secret: I never fold napkins, I prefer to leave them as if I’d placed them casually, though I always know exactly what I’m doing. It’s these little touches that, for me, make all the difference.
I chose the Emerson napkins for their floral pattern. They add just the right amount of romance, nothing over the top. While placing them on the bar, the feel of the cotton reminded me why I love them so much.
Two-tone and with a meaningful origin: the Olinde placemats are made from seagrass, which I find beautiful. I love their round shape, how they frame the plate, and how they blend with the rest of the setting, completing a harmonious scene where everything has its place.
Subtle, elegant, functional. Just like everything that inspires us at Ofelia. The Rodin cutlery is the kind of detail you don’t notice until you use it and think this is well made. They’re my everyday go-to, yet they rise to the occasion when needed.
And now I must confess something: the pink Arlen wine glasses are my weakness. I like having pieces like this... slightly unexpected but never tiring. In this little corner for two, these glasses make even the toast feel special before we’ve even raised them.
And of course, I always like to add flowers. Not too many, just a few fresh blooms are enough. No need to overthink it, some gathered from the garden, placed in the Enol vase, which is made of amber-coloured glass.
That’s how I love to host, even if it’s just the two of us. Creating a thoughtful space, without going overboard. Because in the end, the most beautiful moments are almost never the ones we plan down to the last detail, but the ones where we simply let ourselves enjoy. And you?
