This morning, I woke up with a special kind of excitement. One of those that you feel when you know something beautiful is about to happen. Today, a dear friend is coming over. Elena is one of those people who always feel close, no matter how much time or distance comes between us.
Life has taken us down different paths, but every time we meet again, it is as if no time has passed. The laughter flows naturally, the memories wrap around us, and a deep connection is still there, just like always.
I created this little corner thinking about this moment. For the conversations that stretch on without watching the hour, for the stories we lovingly remember, and for all the new ones we still must share. This is where we will catch up.
I’ve set out two Ghana armchairs. They’re comfortable, elegant, and have that Mediterranean flair that feels so me. With soft cushions and just the right reclines, they’re perfect for whiling away the afternoon. I’m sure we’ll end up talking about sleepless study nights, our failed salsa lessons, or those spontaneous trips we used to take.
What’s funny is that both, the armchairs and the Eliette side table, were in my bedroom, and I never imagined how great they would look in this new space. Sometimes, all it takes is a change of scenery to rediscover the beauty of what is already part of our home.
On the table, I have placed an Asba decorative jug filled with freshly cut branches from the garden, because I know we both love being surrounded by natural greenery. It brings a fresh feel to the space and makes this little corner even more special.
As I prepared every detail, I kept thinking that friendship is like good decor: it stands the test of time and only grows more valuable with the years. Now, as I look around calmy, I can’t help but smile. I love how it has turned out. I’m sure she will too. It is the perfect spot to talk about the past, our dreams, and everything that is still to come.
