When I think of the Mediterranean, I immediately imagine enjoying summer, when there is no rush, and we spend the days enjoying the beach and taking a nap after a good meal. This vision is always accompanied by a sense of tranquillity, typical of the summer and holidays. Who wouldn’t want to retain that feeling and try to extend it as long as possible? I certainly would. Because the Mediterranean style is a way of life, which arises from the light, the sea, the climate... and for me it has always been a great source of inspiration in many ways, either by the character of the people who live near the coast, its landscapes, its gastronomy, its colours... The Mediterranean style decoration has managed to incorporate nature into everyday spaces, creating a philosophy focused on well-being. That is why in recent years it has become one of the most reproduced decorative styles thanks to that feeling of warmth it brings to any home.

With the arrival of summer, it was essential that the sea that saw me born was reflected in my new editorial, because it is one of my main creative stimuli. Mediterranean Mood is a call to calm and simplicity of everyday life, a parenthesis where problems disappear or, at least, are not so present in a lighter, fresh and pleasant atmosphere. It is an invitation to bring this feeling to your home, regardless of where you live.

The Mediterranean decor calls for those serene spaces that evoke the long and relaxed days of holidays, in which not making plans is the best plan and we make the most of the relaxing moments. Hence nothing is ruled. The most important thing is that the spaces must be created to be lived. Everything flows and is balanced, without the rigidity of other styles.

The mild climate, so characteristic of this area, favours outdoor life where you can enjoy the sun and the breeze. That’s why decorating with Mediterranean style is a proposal to open your house to the outside, a tribute to freedom and beauty without artifices, where light is the real protagonist. The atmospheres are simple and fresh, designed for slow life. Interiors connect with the outdoors through windows, terraces, patios or gardens.

The blue of the sea, in any of its shades, the yellow of the sun and the citrus and earth tones of the coast, such as beige and ochre, combined with white, make up a palette of colours characteristic of the Mediterranean aesthetic. Natural materials such as wood, wicker or jute, together with glass provide luminosity and generate tactile sensations; the same occurs with organic fabrics, made with natural fibres such as linen or cotton. The nods to tradition with a taste for antiques and craftsmanship, both in decorative pieces and in household objects, are some of the keys in the Mediterranean style

In short, the decoration inspired by the Mediterranean is characterized by creating fresh, pure and genuine spaces, where nature and light are essential. So, you know, if you want to have a house where you feel on holiday throughout the year, do not miss our latest editorial because you don’t have to be on the beachfront to enjoy it.
