When your birthday date approaches, you think about things you didn't do and you would have liked to do. Fortunately, there are not many things I have pending. However, I always wanted to experience what it is like to live in Sydney.

Very few cities have really impressed me as much and few neighbourhoods are as dear to my heart as the one I'm about to tell you about. Four kilometres south of Sydney's financial and commercial centre is a very unusual and alternative area, Alexandria.

A former industrial district, surrounded by parks and green spaces, Alexandria offers a special selection of bars, restaurants and vintage decoration shops that have captivated me and where I could lose myself for hours and hours.

Deciding between these places hasn’t been easy. Once I arrived, I had it clear, and I bet everything on one card. I present you The Grounds of Alexandria.

Locals simply call it  The Grounds, but this place is far from being simple. Built inside a former 1920s industrial warehouse, this space is home to a specialty coffee shop, organic gardens and inspiring areas perfectly suited for any kind of celebration.

Over the years it has become a must for brunch lovers, thanks to its gastronomic offer that combines homemade dishes with vegan receips y homemade pappardelle. Not to mention the incredible variety of breads and sweets you can find in their bakery area, The Grounds Bakery.

Last but not least, the décor is overwhelming. A sublime combination of antique pieces and industrial furniture with vintage touches. All surrounded by a stunning amount of hanging plants and flowers. One of my favourite cities and a place as close to Eden as you'll find.
